Q: I understand Kathy sings
to background tracks. How does this work? Is it the same as
karaoke?
A: All instrumental music and background singing is
recorded on a CD, which plays through the sound system. Kathy
sings through a microphone, and the sounds from both the
background and the live singing are transmitted through the same
speakers. The effect is very much like a live performance where
the orchestra is hidden below the stage. And yes, it is similar
to karaoke, except that these are professionally mastered
recordings that tend to be of much higher quality than that of
the average karaoke system. The Website audio clips and the Demo
CD were recorded from these tracks.
Q: Do professionals ever perform this way?
A: Yes. For instance, the Women-of-Faith Conferences use
background tracks for all their Praise Team music, and to
accompany such famous artists as Avalon, Kathy Troccoli, and
Sandi Patty.
Q: What sound equipment do you provide? Do we need to supply
anything?
A: Kathy’s equipment includes: Mixer and amplifier,
Microphones, CD player, Speakers and stands, and Monitors. All
she needs is a source of electricity (and maybe a glass of
water!).
Q: Why don’t you perform with a live band instead of
pre-recorded tracks?
A: Actually, Kathy has done this in the past and enjoyed
it immensely! However, it is logistically much simpler to tour
as a solo artist. It is also much more cost effective for you,
since you don’t have to pay for an entire band and the more
extensive sound system that they would need.
Q: I notice that most of your Christian music experience is
through the Lutheran Church. Are your songs appropriate for
other Christian denominations?
A: Absolutely! Kathy considers her music to be broadly
“Christian,” rather than limited to any one denomination. She
believes that we all
pray (and sing) to the same God!!!
Q: Our budget is limited. Do you offer flexible terms or
discounts?
A: Don’t worry- Kathy will work with you to design a
program to suit your musical needs and fit your budget. The
price will vary according to how much performance time is
required – for instance, 30 minutes versus 2 hours. Travel
expenses are factored in as well. Kathy is very
affordable, so please
